Manual / Conseal Server Concepts / Active Directory

Conseal Server provides extensive support for Microsoft Active Directory based environments. The server can delegate all client authentications to the Active Directory and maintain a updated user list by regularly searching the directory for new users. Conseal Server can integrate with multiple Active Directory servers across many domains.

The concept is simple. The administrator uses the Add Active Directory domain page to specify an Active Directory domain name and server address. Conseal Server then contacts the server and immediately downloads a full list of all domain users. It also re-checks with the Active Directory server at a preconfigured interval to download details of new users.

When a domain user wishes to log into Conseal, they provide their username and select their domain from a drop list box. The password entered is passed securely to the Active Directory server for authentication via Kerberos.
