This page guides you through installing MySQL using Debian's package manager 'apt'. It is suitable for any Linux flavour which uses this package manager such as Ubuntu, Kubuntu and Mint.

  1. At the terminal prompt, type: sudo apt-get install mysql-server

  2. After confirming, you will be prompted to enter a root password. Please enter a strong password. This will be used to protect Conseal Server's data on users and protected devices.

  3. MySQL Server is now installed.


If you get the following error message:

libglib2.0-0 : Breaks: gnome-control-center (< 1:3) but 1:2.32.1-0ubuntu15 is to be installed

Then enter the command:

sudo apt-get install gnome-control-center
