Conseal Security Launches Conseal CD to Provide Robust Protection for CD Data Storage

Unique Dual Locks system, coupled with remote deactivation means that CDs lost in transit or stolen will no longer cause a data protection incident

Building on Conseal’s popular Conseal USB solution and with a focus on securing data on the move, Conseal CD applies cloud-based protection to any writable CD, DVD or Blu-ray disc – both write-once and re-writable – allowing the creator to encrypt the disc and its contents, control access to the information stored on it and implement strong policies for how and where data on approved removable media is accessed.

Data released in March 2011 by the Ponemon Institute revealed that the cost assigned to a data breach has soared to £138 per compromised record and averaged £4.6 million per data breach event. The Ponemon research also revealed that employee negligence is still the leading cause of data breaches at 41 percent of known data breaches in the past year.
